Ramakrishna Math focuses on facilitating the seekers, devotees and the visitors in their profound inner spiritual journey of becoming better human beings with its stress on Atmano Mokshartham - the first part of the Ramakrishna Movement motto. The Ramakrishna Mission is focused on serving the humankind at large as manifestation of the Divine within - the Jagat Hitaya Ca - the second part of the motto The Universal Vedanta Teachings of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, Sri Sarada Devi and Swami Vivekananda forms the bedrock of the holistic human development initiatives of the Math & Mission. Major activities include Daily Worship, Spiritual practices, Religious preaching, General and technical education with an ethical and spiritual background, Medical services, Famine and distress relief work, Rural uplift, Work for the laboring masses for their improvement and other Cultural Activities.

Our Story
The Math centre was started in 1910. After being taken over in 2004, it was made a sub-centre under Chennai Math. It became a full-fledged centre in 2005.
